Admission Requirements for Both Degree and Diploma in Theology
Applicants to the regular degree program must meet one of the following criteria:
- Provide evidence of service within the EOTC diocesan structure, starting from the parish level, as per the college’s call.
- Be a deacon, priest, or monk serving in the EOTC.
- Demonstrate a background or interest in traditional EOTC education.
- Have experience serving in the Church and a willingness to continue serving.
- Successfully complete the preparatory program and achieve a satisfactory result in the higher education entrance examination.
- Hold a CGPA of 2.00 or above in a diploma program for advanced standing students.
- Meet the general admission requirements of the university.
- Complete Ethiopian secondary education (10+2 or 12th grade) with qualifying marks.
- Pass the Ethiopian Higher Education Qualifying Entrance Examination or an equivalent examination.
- Complete a diploma program or Level 4 Vocational Training (TVET) with a Certificate of Competency (COC).
- Pass the entrance exam administered by St. Basilios Theological College.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English and Ge’ez language and literature.
For distance and continuing education programs, applicants must:
- Be members of the EOTC who wish to study Orthodox theology.
- Complete Ethiopian secondary education (10+2 or 12th grade) with qualifying marks.
- Achieve a satisfactory result in the higher education entrance examination.
- Hold a CGPA of 2.00 or above in a diploma program for advanced standing students.
- Meet the general admission requirements of the university.
Foreign nationals’ eligibility will be determined by the college’s higher administrative bodies.
