Message from Head of St. Basilios Theological College
Message from His Eminence Abune Kelemntos, Archbishop of EOTC Sunday Schools’ Department, North Shewa Diocese, and Head of St. Basilios Theological College
Welcome to St. Basilios Theological College! It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the Head of this institution, named after His Holiness Abune Basilios, the first Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. We are committed to fulfilling the vision and mission of the College, which was established by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church to impart profound theological knowledge and shape the lives of the faithful through faith, wisdom, and spiritual and social service.
At St. Basilios Theological College, we are dedicated to preserving the timeless teachings of Orthodox Tewahedo Christianity while equipping our students to be spiritually grounded and intellectually adept in navigating the complexities of the modern world. The college aims to not only be a center of academic excellence in the fields of theology, law, tourism, and heritage management, but also a place of learning where our church children can grow in faith, morality, and spiritual and social service. The comprehensive education provided at the college is useful for expanding the horizons of knowledge in wisdom, religion, and ethics that leads to a spiritual journey.
Our College instructors and staff are fully committed to supporting every aspect of teaching and learning. Together, we uphold the values of our faith while pursuing educational excellence. We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities for learning, research, and service that await you as you embark on your journey through our College. We are committed to upholding the teachings of our Holy Church and its long-standing tradition. We firmly believe that your time at St. Basil’s Theological College will deepen your faith, broaden your understanding, and make a meaningful spiritual and social contribution to the Church and society. Finally, thank you for choosing to be part of the College community.
Glory to God!
